Knotting has been used for many centuries by many cultures for both decorative and functional purposes.
Jewellery is made using a series of different types of knots and plaits to create the piece, which can have beads added to enhance the finished result.
The knots I use here are a mix of eastern and western origin and are versatile enough to be used in a selection of jewellery styles using cotton cord, leather and hemp.
